George Washington Bust

George Washington Bust

Tomorrow marks George Washington’s birthday. It is also recognized as Presidents day here in the United States. It serves as day to remember the sacrifice and honor the brave men that have led the nation from the Oval Office. As apparent by the before and after appearances of past presidents, the role as Commander and Chief is not for the faint of heart.

Sure, the day off work is nice but we truly believe it is important to remember and honor these sacrifices of these brave men. Not only remember these men for one day, but year around.  For this reason we are proud to include a wealth of presidential, portrait and full length sculptures.  From the current United States President, Barack Obama to the first United States President, George Washington the United States Presidents are well represented within our gallery. Our busts are museum grade quality, perfect for a professional library or to to exhibit patriotism and deference for history at home. The portrait busts from this gallery assure an honorable display.

Thomas Jefferson Bust

 President Thomas Jefferson Bust

Yesterday marked the 224th anniversary of the first State of the Union address. The Constitution of the United States does not detail the means for which the Union must be addressed.

In fact nine years later, dear President Thomas Jefferson sent a letter to congress instead of giving an oration. He felt giving an address was too monarchical. After all one must consider the war that was just fought and the attitudes at the time.

In 1913, President Woodrow  Wilson revived the move to deliver the address before Congress. It was controversial at the time and many presidents after opted to send a letter since.

President Jimmy Carter was the last to send a letter to Congress. With the rise of television, late 20th and 21st century presidents have opted to deliver before Congress through speech.

John F. Kennedy Bust

The 22nd of  November will serve as the 50th anniversary of the assassination of American President John F. Kennedy.  JFK served valiantly during at turbulent period in American History; the Vietnam war was coming to a head, African Americans were fighting for their civil liberties, and communism was on the rise in Eastern Asia.

Through JFK’s political aspirations, he was faced with personal tragedy as well. Jacqueline Kennedy, his wife, had a miscarriage in 1955, a stillborn in 1956, and lost a child shortly after he was born in 1963. JFK’s eldest brother was killed in action during World War II.

He faced debilitating back pain, an injury from his time served in WWII, Addison’s disease and hypothyroidism through his adult life. These conditions often caused him to be absent from political duties and impacted his diplomatic duties abroad.

Bronze John F. Kennedy Bust

Despite these trials and tribulations JFK is one of America’s most beloved Presidents. Perhaps these tribulations provided a character Americans could relate to. Furthermore, his legacy embodies youth and optimism, making his bust a valuable addition to any personal Presidential gallery or a prized gift.

We are proud to include many other John F. Kennedy and other Presidential sculptures and statuary within our gallery. To view more fine pieces head on over to our website.

afmm710bcI loved the quote. Anderson Cooper said it last night on CNN about Barack Obama who was inaugrated the 44th President of the United States today:  “One tall skinny lawyer from Illinois paying homage to another tall skinny lawyer from Illinois.”

It’s an exciting day for America, a new possibility, and it’s nice to be from Illinois!  We will always be proud of our first “tall, skinny lawyer from Illinois” who became the  16th President of our country, Abraham Lincoln.  At Statue.com we have numerous sculptures of this fine man, and we think this is the perfect time to get one if you don’t already have one.

I especially don’t think any classroom should be without one. We also offer a bust of our new President Barack Obama so consider that as well.

God bless our new America!  And I leave you with a favorite quote from Abe Lincoln:

“I desire so to conduct the affairs of this administration that if at the end, when I come to lay down the reins of power, I have lost every other friend on earth, I shall at least have one friend left, and that friend shall be down inside me.”

It is with Hope we look to the upcoming Presidential Elections.  After all, what is each new presidential term but a golden  opportunity to try something new!

At Statue.com, a small, family-run American business we’ve thought alot about the upcoming elections, and the difficult times that we are all facing with the economic upheavals.  We’d like to help make your dollars go further as you look to the upcoming holiday seasons.

May I suggest that a wonderful gift to give a friend or loved one may be found in our section on Busts of Famous Americans and Presidents.

A portrait of an american hero is something that will never go out of style, and can be passed on down through generations in your family.

We offer these busts in a wide range of prices so that even for as little as $25 you can purchase a well crafted statue.
