Statue Sale

Custom Statue Repair Statue.com has built a long reputation of making beautiful, timeless custom sculptures. However, did you know we have been repairing and restoring sculptures just as long?

Our expertise is not limited to one material. Whether we are working with plaster, cement, alabaster, marble, fiberglass or bronze; our restorations will have your sculpture refinished or repainted to their original state.

Furthermore, we can fix broken fingers, chipping paint, and cracks in weathered or statues that have been broken . Resin, plaster, marble, concrete, wood, and stone statues are carefully re-worked in our shop so that in most cases they will appear as original, and often are reinforced to be stronger than before.

This week we will be featuring two more blogs on statues we have repaired and refinished, so stay tuned!

In the meantime head on over to Statue.com to see our entire gallery of sculptures, fountains and garden statues. Frank Lloyd Wright holds a special place in our hearts. His architecture is prominent in Chicago, where our CEO Gloria grew up and also in the small town of Edwardsville where Statue.com calls home.

Although well known for architecture, Frank Lloyd Wright contributed so much more to the world of aesthetics. His attention to detail is paralleled to none. We admire the way Frank Lloyd Wright was able coordinated design elements that ran central through his projects. From planters to sculptures Frank Lloyd Wright coordinated it all.

We choose one of our favorite Frank Lloyd Wright sculptures to reside outside the entrance of the Bohm Building, where all the Statue.com magic happens. The Garden Sprite is a life-size sandstone replica of several designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, and sculpted by Alfonzo Ianelli. The originals were located in the Midway Gardens, Chicago, Illinois.

Statue.com offers a vast collection of Frank Lloyd Wright reproductions. Our reproductions come in multiple sizes, including planters, sculptures and glass designs from The Frank Lloyd Wright Residence, Oak Park, Illinois; The Frank Lloyd Wright Studio, Oak Park; The Henry J. Allen Residence, Wichita, Kansas; The Frederick C. Robie Residence, Hyde Park, Illinois; and The Burton J. Westcott Residence, Springfield, Ohio.

Stephen Otten unveils his sculpture "David"

Stephen Otten unveils his sculpture “David”

Statue.com’s Gloria and Ann had the pleasure of attending the unveiling of a special sculpture. It is quite unusual to see this type of sculpture done within the United States, much less in the Midwest. The sculptor’s material of choice was bonded marble, more commonly used in Italy.

The building material is not the only special attribute of the sculpture. The statue unveiled was crafted by Steve Otten. His ambition was inspired by famous sculptor Michelangelo and his rendition of David during a trip to Italy. This trip came at a special point in Otten’s life as he was suffering from post traumatic stress syndrome from his career as a Navy SEAL. After his trip, Otten focused his energy upon studying and training at local community colleges and an art studio. Working on his sculpture has helped him cope with his experience of war and provided an outlet for a passion and determination.

The beauty of art is that it can transcend just aesthetics and take on an element of healing and hope. We believe Steve Otten has proven just that.

Furthermore, we are proud to include many sculptures and other art-forms to express gratitude of our veterans and those currently serving. Head on over to Statue.com to see our entire gallery.
